Job Overview
A-Better Heat & Air Conditioning, a leading Oklahoma-based HVAC contractor with over 40 years of trusted service, is seeking a dedicated and experienced System Administrator to join our team. For decades, our certified technicians have specialised in providing premier heating, ventilation, and air conditioning solutions, from central air units to advanced indoor air quality systems. We are looking for a proactive professional to manage and maintain our internal IT infrastructure, ensuring the seamless and secure operation of the technology that supports our business and enables us to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
Responsibilities
As our System Administrator, you will be responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of our computer systems and network. Your key duties will include: * Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, workstations, and other network infrastructure. * Managing network security, including firewalls, anti-virus software, and intrusion detection systems. * Providing timely technical support and troubleshooting assistance to our office and field staff. * Performing regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, and key processes. * Administering user accounts, permissions, and access rights. * Implementing and managing data backup and recovery procedures to ensure business continuity. * Developing and maintaining clear documentation for all IT systems and procedures. * Evaluating and recommending new technologies to improve efficiency and performance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key qualifications include: * Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or in a similar IT role. * Strong knowledge of system administration, network protocols, and security principles. * Experience with various operating systems, particularly Windows environments. * Familiarity with database management, system backup, and recovery solutions. * Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills. * The ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to non-technical colleagues. * A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred but not essential. * Professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified) are highly advantageous.
