Job Responsibilities:
Software QA Engineer IIThe following is a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities and areas of ownership of a Software QA Engineer (P2):
- Understand functional requirements, technical specifications, business workflows and design documents
- Approach Product Managers to clarify business processes and potential gaps
- Coordinate testing of new features/components/applications to ensure that the end product meets the specifications
- Document detailed test plan outlining test approach, integrations, and test coverage
- Create comprehensive, well-structured test cases and execute end to end testing based on requirements and design
- Ensure bugs are reported in detail and provide status update on testing progress to stakeholders.
- Research production issues and document steps needed to reproduce problems as needed
- Communicate with Product Managers and Developers to work in a collaborative environment to ensure overall team success
- Mentor team by guiding and knowledge sharing
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
REQUIREMENTS
Education Level
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
Experience
- Strong knowledge of QA/software testing methodologies, tools, and processes
- Previous experience as lead creator of clear, concise, comprehensive test plans and cases
Other relevant skills
- Knowledge of SQL
- Knowledge of performance testing
- Knowledge of API testing
