What's the role?
We are seeking an experienced and creative UI Design Lead to join our multidisciplinary Web Experience team and take responsibility for developing, evolving and delivering best-in-class visual and interaction design across our ecosystem of websites.
This role is part of our Global Marketing function within the global Customer organization of HERE Technologies. Based in Mumbai, India, you’ll become part of an international cross-functional group that strategically and operationally runs our ecosystem of websites, with HERE.com being the main hub for inspiring and educating audiences about our offering, generating buyer demand, and providing a self-serve entry into the HERE platform.
You’ll work in a team of highly talented, creative professionals who are at the center of web experience for HERE, focusing on technology topics ranging from Automotive to Fleet Management and Supply Chains. Your input will be crucial in shaping and executing high-quality UI across our global rolling annual product roadmap, using your deep expertise in visual design, interaction design, design systems and scalable digital experiences as you liaise closely with UX Design, Content, Product Owners, Development, the HERE Design System team, Product and Revenue Marketing stakeholders, Market Intelligence and partner agencies.
We’ll count on you to be the go-to expert for UI craft excellence, helping to establish and maintain design standards, reusable components and patterns, and clear definitions of quality to ensure our suite of websites deliver consistent, accessible and compelling user experiences. We’ll also expect you to be enthusiastic about being hands-on, using a sprint-based, agile approach, while providing guidance and mentorship to fellow designers without direct line management responsibility.
Who are you?
- Be our go-to person for UI design excellence across here.com and our broader website ecosystem, including visual design, interaction design, user flows, UI artifacts, prototypes and final design specifications.
- Lead the design execution of key website initiatives from discovery through delivery, working closely with UX Design, Content, Product Owner and Development colleagues.
- Translate complex HERE topics into elegant, intuitive and scalable digital experiences that support audience needs and business objectives.
- Create high-quality, implementation-ready UI designs and documentation that clearly articulate design rationale, decisions and process.
- Partner closely with Product Owners, UX Design, Content and Development teams to define goals, scope, priorities and success measures for website experiences.
- Champion user-centered design decisions across Brand, Product, Performance Marketing, Development and other cross-functional stakeholder groups.
- Champion adoption of the HERE Design System (HDS) across web experiences, ensuring consistency, scalability and alignment with brand principles.
- Contribution to building our reusable component library with developers for the HDS to enable us to build faster and more efficiently.
- Helping to create alternative interfaces for A/B testing ahead of full design rollouts.
- Establish and maintain reusable UI components, interaction patterns and visual standards that raise the quality and efficiency of our design output.
- Provide hands-on design guidance through design reviews and peer feedback.
- Act as a key internal stakeholder for our design and agency partners, helping to ensure quality, consistency and design intent from concept through delivery.
- Work directly in the details, in partnership with UX design, including responsive layouts, visual hierarchy, accessibility, interaction models, prototyping and final design handover.
- Use data, performance insights, experimentation and iterative validation to refine design decisions and improve the effectiveness of our website journeys.
- Collaborate closely with subject matter experts to understand business goals and draw out strong customer-facing user experiences.
- Foster an integrated and collaborative approach to UI requirements before translating aspects of HERE into compelling, clear stories and offers.
- Contribute to the growth of design maturity across the organization by identifying gaps, improving ways of working and proactively driving quality improvements.
- Lead with excellent communication and storytelling skills, helping colleagues and stakeholders understand the why behind design decisions.
- Help ensure our website experiences are accessible, inclusive and aligned with HERE Design System principles, quality standards and Brand strategy.
- Thrive in a fast-paced business that requires a steady stream of innovative solutions across B2B and B2D audiences.
YOUR APPLICATION SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- A link to your portfolio, or samples of projects you’ve worked on or led.
- Applications should include examples that highlight your visual design craft, interaction design thinking and experience with design systems at scale.
