We are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Project Manager to oversee industrial and commercial electrical construction projects throughout the Louisville area. This role will manage projects from preconstruction and contract award through field execution, commissioning, and final closeout while maintaining control of schedules, budgets, manpower, procurement, safety, quality, and client expectations.
The ideal candidate has hands-on project management experience with an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor and understands the operational, technical, and financial aspects of delivering successful electrical construction projects. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong coordination with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, general contractors, clients, and internal leadership.
Projects may include manufacturing facilities, industrial plants, automotive facilities, commercial buildings, institutional projects, and electrical service or maintenance work.
Responsibilities• Manage industrial and commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through final completion and closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, procurement strategies, and execution plans
- Coordinate Superintendents, Foremen, electricians, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and other project personnel
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, schedules, and construction documents
- Monitor project budgets, labor productivity, material costs, equipment expenses, forecasts, and overall profitability
- Forecast manpower requirements and coordinate labor resources with field leadership
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement logs, billing support, project documentation, and closeout packages
- Coordinate material purchasing, equipment deliveries, long-lead items, and subcontractor activities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, engineers, inspectors, vendors, and company leadership
- Lead project meetings and provide regular updates on schedule, budget, milestones, risks, and project performance
- Identify and resolve issues involving manpower, scheduling, procurement, materials, scope, and field coordination
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and schedule adherence
- Support field leadership by ensuring crews have the information, materials, equipment, and resources needed to maintain production
- Manage change orders and ensure additional work is properly documented, priced, submitted, and tracked
- Ensure projects comply with applicable electrical codes, contract requirements, safety policies, and quality standards
- Coordinate inspections, punch-list activities, commissioning, documentation, and final project turnover
- 3+ years of electrical construction project management experience preferred
- Proven experience managing industrial and commercial electrical construction projects
- Previous experience with an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor strongly preferred
- Experience with manufacturing, industrial, automotive, commercial, institutional, or electrical service projects preferred
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, installation sequencing, manpower planning, scheduling, and field operations
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, labor forecasting, procurement, subcontractors, change orders, and cost control
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and project documentation
- Experience coordinating electricians, field supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, general contractors, and other stakeholders
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management software
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the Louisville area
