The Opportunity:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the strategic planning and execution of complex, cross-functional initiatives that drive organizational growth and operational excellence. Projects may include mergers and acquisitions, IT initiatives (such as infrastructure, networking, financial technology, application implementations and upgrades), multi-vendor system integrations, regulatory and administrative process improvements, and product-related initiatives.
In this role, the Senior Project Manager oversees the full project lifecycle, from initiation through implementation and completion. Responsibilities include developing project plans, coordinating cross-functional teams and external vendors, managing budgets and timelines, mitigating risks, facilitating project governance, and providing regular status updates and executive-level reporting. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
The ideal candidate is an experienced project management professional with a proven ability to lead large, complex initiatives across multiple teams. They possess strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, along with hands-on experience delivering IT and/or fintech projects. Success in this role requires a collaborative approach, sound business judgment, and the ability to influence and deliver results in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
What you’ll do:
- Lead all aspects of assigned projects from initiation, planning, solutioning/end-state design, execution, testing, and successful delivery of assigned project scope
- Manage initiatives across all involved parties: external vendors, internal departments including but not limited to: Information Technology, Finance, Product, Editorial, Operations, Sales, Subscription Services team, and Marketing.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to create project documentation including, but not limited to: project scope, requirements, decisions, process-design, assumptions, milestones, etc.
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, assumptions, issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the evolution of project management practices and PMO maturity through documentation, knowledge sharing, and process optimization.
- Deliver insights and recommendations that enhance client service and support data-driven decision-making.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field; PMP certification strongly preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in project and program management, including leadership of cross-functional initiatives.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a track record of meeting deadlines and managing competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical mindset with experience interpreting data and identifying trends to inform strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coach others, and foster collaboration across departments.
Compensation:
Employment offers presented to the selected candidate are based on a combination of qualifications, experience, responsibilities of the role and the candidate's location.
Base Salary: $85,000 - $105,000
