ABOUT THE ROLE
HiveRx is a production pharmacy operations platform built for regulated compounding environments. It is actively used, actively growing, and actively being extended across pharmacy workflows, integrations, and compliance-heavy operations.
This role owns the specification pipeline that turns business needs, regulatory constraints, workflow complexity, and stakeholder input into clear, buildable work for external engineering consultants. The consultancy builds what we hand them. This hire makes sure every handoff is precise, complete, technically grounded, and ready to build without back-and-forth.
This is not a generic project management role, and it is not a meeting-coordination role. It requires enough technical understanding to write useful specifications, enough product judgment to challenge vague requirements, and enough operational discipline to keep consultants moving without waiting on us.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Technical Product Management
- Own the end-to-end specification pipeline for HiveRx product and platform work
- Convert business needs, pharmacy workflows, regulatory constraints, and stakeholder input into clear implementation-ready specs
- Maintain a prioritized backlog of specification work so consultants always have well-defined next steps
- Identify gaps, ambiguity, edge cases, and missing acceptance criteria before work reaches engineering
- Keep handoffs tight enough that external consultants can build without repeated clarification loops
Feature Specification & Research
- Research workflows, compliance constraints, vendor APIs, integration patterns, and operational dependencies needed to define features correctly
- Translate requirements into structured specs with user flows, business rules, edge cases, acceptance criteria, data needs, and QA notes
- Work directly with internal stakeholders to extract and validate requirements
- Audit existing backlog items and identify where requirements are incomplete, outdated, or too vague to build
- Produce technical enough documentation that engineering teams can estimate, implement, and test with confidence
Product & Platform Ownership
- Coordinate consultant work by making sure build inputs are complete, decisions are documented, and blockers are resolved quickly
- Track what the consultancy needs from Revelation and prevent preventable waiting time
- Participate in release planning, QA review, and internal testing
- Contribute to product, technical, user-facing, and compliance-relevant documentation
- Identify systemic process gaps and improve how HiveRx work moves from idea to implementation
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Technical
- Strong technical product management, technical project management, business systems, or implementation experience
- Able to understand software architecture, data flows, integrations, APIs, permissions, workflow states, and technical constraints well enough to write useful specs
- Prior engineering background is strongly preferred, but not required if technical depth is real
- Comfortable working with Laravel/Vue engineers and external consultants even if you are not writing production code
- Able to separate product requirements from implementation details without losing the technical specificity engineers need
Domain
- Experience working in regulated, workflow-heavy, or operationally complex environments is strongly preferred
- Healthcare, pharmacy, life sciences, logistics, ERP, or business-systems implementation experience is relevant
- Understanding of compliance considerations that affect software design: audit trails, data integrity, access control, change documentation, and workflow traceability
- Comfortable learning pharmacy, compounding, dispensing, and operational workflows deeply enough to write accurate requirements
AI & Tooling
- Comfortable using AI tools as a productivity layer for research, requirement synthesis, spec drafting, gap analysis, and documentation
- Able to critically evaluate AI-generated output before relying on it
- Understands where AI output requires extra scrutiny: regulatory logic, edge cases, workflow rules, data handling, integrations, and acceptance criteria
- Uses tooling to move faster without outsourcing judgment
Writing & Communication
- Excellent technical writer; your specs require minimal clarification
- Able to communicate clearly with engineers, consultants, pharmacists, operators, and business stakeholders
- Strong at turning messy stakeholder input into structured decisions, requirements, and implementation guidance
- Detail-oriented without being slow; you know when a spec is complete enough to build
- Comfortable pushing back when requirements are vague, contradictory, or not ready for engineering
Mindset
- Ownership mentality; unclear requirements and stalled consultant work are your problem until resolved
- Comfortable with ambiguity; able to impose structure on it
- Process-minded without becoming bureaucratic
- Not looking for a role with clean lines; this role sits between product, engineering, compliance, operations, QA, and consultant coordination by design
