We are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Project Manager to lead industrial and commercial electrical projects throughout the Louisville, Kentucky area. This position is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction and award through field execution, commissioning, and final closeout while maintaining control of schedules, budgets, labor, procurement, safety, and quality.
The ideal candidate has direct project management experience working for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor and understands the operational and financial requirements of successfully delivering electrical construction projects. This role requires a hands-on leader who can coordinate field teams, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal departments while managing multiple projects and priorities.
Projects may include manufacturing facilities, industrial plants, automotive facilities, commercial buildings, institutional projects, and electrical service or maintenance work.
Responsibilities• Manage industrial and commercial electrical construction projects from award and preconstruction through final completion and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, procurement strategies, and execution plans.
- Coordinate Superintendents, Foremen, electricians, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and other project personnel.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, schedules, and other construction documents.
- Monitor project budgets, committed costs, labor productivity, material expenses, equipment costs, forecasts, and overall profitability.
- Track manpower requirements and coordinate labor resources with field leadership based on project schedules and production needs.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement logs, project documentation, billing support, and closeout packages.
- Coordinate material purchasing, equipment deliveries, long-lead items, and subcontractor activities.
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients, general contractors, engineers, inspectors, vendors, and company leadership.
- Lead or participate in project meetings and provide regular updates regarding schedules, costs, milestones, and potential risks.
- Identify and resolve challenges involving manpower, scheduling, procurement, materials, scope, and field coordination.
- Conduct jobsite visits to monitor project progress, quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
- Support field leadership by ensuring crews have the information, materials, equipment, and resources required to maintain production.
- Manage change orders and ensure additional work is properly documented, priced, submitted, and tracked.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable electrical codes, contract requirements, company safety policies, and quality standards.
- Coordinate punch-list activities, inspections, commissioning, documentation, and final project turnover.
- 3+ years of electrical construction project management experience preferred.
- Direct experience managing industrial and commercial electrical construction projects.
- Previous experience working for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor is strongly preferred.
- Experience with manufacturing facilities, industrial plants, automotive facilities, commercial buildings, institutional projects, or electrical service and maintenance work is preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, installation sequencing, manpower planning, scheduling, and field operations.
- Proven experience managing project budgets, labor forecasting, procurement, subcontractors, change orders, and cost control.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and project documentation.
- Experience coordinating electricians, field supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, general contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management software.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites throughout the Louisville area.
