Description
Captivation Software has an immediate need for a DevOps Engineer to support modernization effort to converge the agency's authoring, dissemination, and other supporting tools. Responsibilities will include: deploying applications; installing and configuring complex software; managing network servers and technology tools; monitoring and maintaining the system for required levels of performance; and troubleshooting issues and outages.
Candidates will be required to work a rotating pager schedule for emergency 24/7 call-in support as required (roughly 1 week out of every 3-4 weeks). Staff may charge 4 additional hours for the week they are on call in addition to hours worked. On average, the first team is paged for after-hours support approximately once every couple of months with most issues resolvable by phone.
Requirements
Security Clearance:
- Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, or problem diagnosis/resolution.
- Master’s degree can be substituted for two (2) years experience
Required Skills:
- Linux
- AWS, MASH, and VMs
- Docker Swarm
- Deployments of distributed web applications (e.g. GitLab CI/CD)
- Terraform scripting and VM provisioning
- Ansible scripting and development
- Thorough understanding of Docker & Docker Compose container technology
- Git
Desired Skills:
- Python scripting and development
- NiFi maintenance and configuration
- Elasticsearch maintenance and configuration
- Java/Spring Boot (troubleshooting error logs)
- HAProxy
- MongoDB

Benefits
- Annual Salary: $130,000 - $270,000 (Depends on the Years of Experience)
