Job Description: QA Engineer (2–4 Years Experience)
Location: Bangalore
Role Overview We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer with 2 to 4 years of experience to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software applications. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to design test strategies, execute manual and automated tests, and drive continuous improvement in our delivery pipeline.
Key Responsibilities Test Planning & Execution
- Analyze Requirements: Review product specifications, user stories, and technical
design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Test Case Creation: Design, write, and maintain detailed, comprehensive, and well
structured test plans and test cases.
- Execution: Perform rigorous Functional, Regression, Integration, and Smoke
testing across web and mobile platforms.
- Defect Management: Identify, document, and track software defects using tools
like Jira. Clearly articulate steps to reproduce, logs, and expected vs. actual behavior. Test Automation & Technical Contribution
- Automation Development: Maintain and expand existing test automation
frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium).
- API Testing: Validate backend services and REST APIs using tools like Postman or
automated scripts.
- CI/CD Integration: Assist in running and monitoring automated test suites within
the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline. Collaboration & Process
- Agile Participation:
Active participant in Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Retrospectives).
- Release Validation: Certify build quality for production deployments and assist
with post-release verification.
Must-Have- Experience and Skil sets.
- Experience: 2–4 years of proven experience as a QA Engineer, Software Tester, or
similar role.
- Methodologies: Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum software development
lifecycles and QA methodologies.
- Testing Tools: Hands-on experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail,
Xray).
- Automation Basics: Professional experience or strong foundational knowledge in
at least one automation framework (e.g., Selenium Webdriver, Cypress, or Playwright) and a programming language like Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- API Testing: Proficiency in API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI) and understanding
of HTTP methods and JSON/XML structures.
- Database Skills: Ability to write basic to intermediate SQL queries to verify data
integrity and perform backend validation
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter).
- Basic familiarity with Git version control and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub
Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Soft Skills
- Analytical Mindset: Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong eye for detail
and edge cases.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills to articulate
technical bugs to developers and business context to product owners.
- Adaptability: Ability to balance multiple testing priorities in a fast-paced
