The ๐…๐Œ๐ is a non-profit, non-governmental organization. ๐‡๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ: In the Spring of 2005, the Government of Canada enacted the ๐น๐‘–๐‘Ÿ๐‘ ๐‘ก ๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘  ๐น๐‘–๐‘ ๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘™ ๐‘€๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘Ž๐‘”๐‘’๐‘š๐‘’๐‘›๐‘ก ๐ด๐‘๐‘ก (๐‘ญ๐‘ด๐‘จ) which gave First Nations the option to participate under the ๐™๐™ˆ๐˜ผ. To enable First Nations to participate, the ๐™๐™ˆ๐˜ผ established three Indigenous Institutions: 1. First Nations Finance Authority (๐…๐๐…๐€) 2. First Nations Tax Commission (๐…๐๐“๐‚) 3. First Nations Financial Management Board (๐…๐Œ๐) The purpose of these institutions was to create a mechanism to provide support and tools to First Nations to strengthen their communities and build foundations for economic development.
