Position Overview:
The Inside Solutions Architect II (Networking) is a presales technical resource responsible for leading the consultative discovery of clients' business goals, technical requirements, and operational challenges, translating those needs into secure, scalable, and business-aligned networking solutions. The primary objective of the ISA II is to drive revenue growth, profitability, and customer success by providing technical expertise throughout the sales cycle.
The Networking ISA II serves as a trusted advisor to customers, account executives, and internal stakeholders by designing and recommending advanced networking architectures spanning enterprise routing and switching, wireless, SD-WAN, network security, cloud networking, and data center connectivity. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen to help customers modernize infrastructure, mitigate risk, and achieve strategic outcomes.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in networking technologies, experience supporting complex presales engagements, and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and executive-level audiences
What you’ll do as an Inside Solutions Architect:

- Lead technical discovery sessions to identify customer business objectives, current-state environments, challenges, and solution requirements.
- Design and recommend networking solutions that align with customer goals, technical standards, and budget requirements.
- Partner with sales teams to develop account strategies and advance opportunities through the sales cycle.
- Create and validate Bills of Materials (BoMs), technical proposals, and supporting documentation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for enterprise networking technologies including routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, network security, cloud networking, and network management platforms.
- Deliver technical presentations, solution demonstrations, workshops, and architecture reviews for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Review designs, configurations, and quotes to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with customer requirements.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships through additional technologies, services, and solution enhancements.
- Collaborate with vendor partners and technical resources to develop innovative customer solutions and maintain strategic relationships.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, competitive offerings, and vendor roadmaps.
- Mentor junior architects and technical resources while contributing to process improvements, documentation standards, and technical best practices.
- Develop expertise in Zones' services portfolio and integrate services into solution recommendations when appropriate.
Certification Requirements
- Cisco CCNA, HPE Aruba ACA-CA, HPE Aruba ACA-S, or HPE Juniper JNCIA-Junos required.
- Cisco CCNP, HPE Aruba ACP-CA, HPE Aruba ACP-S, HPE Juniper JNCIS-ENT, or JNCIP-ENT preferred.
- Additional certifications from Cisco, HPE Aruba, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or other strategic networking vendors are highly desirable.
What you will bring to the team:
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in networking infrastructure, implementation, engineering, or support roles.
- Minimum of 4+ years in a customer-facing presales Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or consulting role.
- Demonstrated experience designing enterprise networking solutions across multiple technologies and vendors.
- Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols, wireless networking, SD-WAN, network security, cloud networking, and data center connectivity.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and customer communication skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and executive-level audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and relationship management skills.
