At Insignito, we turn sound into smart drone detection.

We're an Israeli defense-tech startup and an affiliate company within the Sentrycs Group, developing advanced acoustic technologies that detect, track, and classify drones by their unique sound signatures.

Our flagship product, DUMBO, adds a passive sensing layer to counter-drone systems, helping tackle real-world security challenges.

Combining startup agility, deep technological expertise, and the strength of the Sentrycs Group, we're building innovative solutions that make a real impact.

About the position

We are looking for Lead Software Architect to join our team.

You will own the company’s software architecture, software quality, and software engineering standards. You will guide developers across teams, review critical code and designs, lead improvements to our software development processes, and remain hands-on in implementation.

This role combines software architecture, coding, code reviews, CI/CD, DevOps, automation, testing, and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the software architecture across Insignito’s products and shared software infrastructure.
  • Define, maintain, and enforce software development standards and best practices.
  • Own software quality, including testing strategy, maintainability, code quality, and technical debt.
  • Lead software design and architecture reviews and improve code-review practices across teams.
  • Design and implement critical or complex software components.
  • Lead CI/CD, testing infrastructure, deployment automation, observability, and developer tooling.
  • Drive standards and adoption of AI-native and agentic software development.
  • Mentor software engineers and improve engineering practices across teams.
  • Work closely with the VP R&D on software strategy and long-term technical direction.

Requirements

  • Extensive recent hands-on software development experience with complex production systems.
  • Proven experience architecting, building, and delivering large, complex software projects from design through production and maintenance.
  • Strong software architecture and system-design capabilities.
  • Strong Python development skills.
  • Proven experience technically leading software engineers, including mentoring, code reviews, and design reviews.
  • Strong understanding of testing, CI/CD, DevOps, observability, and software-quality practices.
  • Experience with backend, infrastructure, distributed systems, and software integration.
  • Ability to turn software engineering principles into practical standards and automation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lead/Senior Software Engineer, Software Architect, or similar experience.
  • Previous experience managing a software engineering team while remaining technically hands-on.
  • Real-time, edge, embedded, or hardware-connected software systems.
  • NVIDIA Jetson, GPU/CUDA, or high-performance software.
  • Experience building CI/CD systems, developer platforms, and automated quality gates.
  • Experience leading major refactoring or software architecture modernization.
  • Strong experience with agentic software-development workflows.
