Job Description:

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must have or be able to obtain UK Eyes Only SC Security Clearance via the UK Intelligence Community (UKIC) process.

LOCATION: Chippenham, Wiltshire, Portsmouth or Stevenage (with some hybrid working available subject to our Hybrid Working Policy)

TYPE: Full time

At our Airbus Defence and Space site in Corsham, we are seeking a highly credentialed Ground System Security Design Engineer to provide end-to-end protection for our critical Spacecraft Control Centre Systems and Satellite Communications infrastructures. 

Reporting to the Head of SCOF Engineering you will play a pivotal role in managing high-stakes security architecture and ensuring our defenses remain ahead of evolving threats.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

As a key player in our security infrastructure, you will take ownership of complex risks and coordinate comprehensive defense strategies. In this role, you will:

  • Provide end-to-end support to projects with regards to cyber security.
  • Analyze functional needs, establish associated criticality levels, propose appropriate security protection concepts, and project and manage risks for the project.
  • Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of standards, regulation, governance, and best practices across specified disciplines.
  • Manage end-to-end projects, tasks, and deliverables in accordance with Airbus Business Processes.
  • Ensure the activity of all actors and disciplines is coordinated and fits together in the overall security architecture.
  • Leverage your knowledge and understanding of Spacecraft Control Centre Systems to ensure robust protection.
  • Apply your knowledge of Satellite Communications infrastructures to secure critical data streams.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a dedicated professional who thrives in a highly secure environment and possesses a deep understanding of complex operating systems and network infrastructures. To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • CISSP Accreditation
  • CISM Accreditation
  • Proven experience working within a Secure environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Solaris, Linux, and Windows Operating Systems
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco infrastructures
  • Working knowledge of JSP440
