How you’ll make an impact

As a Data Engineer for Agentic AI & ML, you will be the architectural bridge between raw data and customer-facing intelligence. You will collaborate deeply with our Data and Platform teams to influence upstream pipelines, ensuring high-fidelity data is ready to power our scheduling and planning software. You will be responsible for extracting, preparing, and optimizing complex datasets to fuel prototyping and production-grade ML solutions. By building custom pipelines for agentic systems, you will enable our users to work faster, better, and better informed, directly enhancing the user experience in Planday through intelligent, autonomous workforce management.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with Data and Platform teams to advocate for and influence the design of upstream data pipelines to support AI/ML requirements.
  • Extract and transform large-scale datasets from various sources specifically for AI/ML prototyping and model training.
  • Design and deploy custom, production-ready data pipelines that power agentic AI workflows and real-time ML inference.
  • Implement robust data validation and monitoring for ML-specific features, ensuring data quality and lineage for production models.

  • Strong working relationships with the Data and Platform teams that result in AI-ready data infrastructure.
  • Reduced time-to-market for AI prototypes through efficient data extraction and preparation workflows.
  • High-availability production pipelines supporting live ML models and agentic workflows with minimal data latency.
  • Consistent delivery of high-quality, feature-rich datasets that directly improve model performance and agent reliability.
  • Proactive identification of data gaps and the successful implementation of new data sources for advanced AI capabilities.

What you’ll bring with you

  • Professional experience in data engineering with a focus on supporting ML/AI systems in production.
  • Deep proficiency in SQL and Python for building complex ETL/ELT pipelines and data manipulation for ML.
  • Understanding of MLOps principles, including data versioning and feature store management.
  • Knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, and data orchestration tools relevant to LLM and agentic architectures.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines to influence data architecture at the platform level.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, Databricks, and modern cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure).
