The R&D Technical Project Management Office (TPMO) team’s mission is to accelerate the outcomes of Omnicell’s Product and Engineering organizations by driving programs and uniting cross-functional teams. We are looking for a best-in-class Technical Project Manager (TPM) who will manage complex programs through the development and/or operational processes at Omnicell. This position requires a solid understanding of program requirements as well as the technologies used in the program. Scope of responsibilities range from focused projects to multi-dimensional programs involving multiple disciplines and cross-functions
What You’ll Do
As a Technical Project Manager, you will:
- Identify and secure commitment from teams across the company for new initiatives, drive consensus on the technical approach, set timelines, and lead cross-functional development teams from design through delivery.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts.
- Identify technical, regulatory, and supply chain risks early and implement mitigation plans. Develop a recovery plan, and communicate the plan to all stakeholders.
- Ensure outstanding communication across teams; manage actionable information up to Engineering SLT.
- Ensure alignment with product strategy, regulatory requirements, and business outcomes.
- Oversee hardware design reviews, prototype builds (EVT), DVT/PVT activities, and test strategy.
- Support reliability testing, design for manufacturability (DFM), and design for test (DFT).
Who You Are
- Strong business cross-functional skill set, very familiar with hardware and software development life cycle (HDLC and SDLC).
- Excellent communication skills, coupled with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including executive level.
- Strong understanding of hardware product development lifecycle (concept → EVT → DVT → PVT → launch).
- Demonstrated success at public speaking and detailed report writing.
- Team Player and Self Starter; Drives teams and self to meet commitments in order to achieve success; Accountable for results.
- Adept at creating effective presentations, visuals and outputs.
- Possesses strong business acumen.
- Experience in budget tracking.
- Track record in creating technical specifications by analyzing requirements and digesting product management needs.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and can digest complex problems. Experience in articulating possible paths forward with pro(s) and con(s).
- Familiarity with Product Operating Model (POM).
- Deep background with Agile Iterative development process.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline, finance or business.
- 5+ years of Technical Program Management experience.
- 10+ years in project / program / development / product management.
- Strong background in Agile development process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters preferred.
- Project Management certification or certificate (PMP, PgMP, CPM, DAU, etc.).
