Summary:
The Project Manager-Senior provides overall management and technical coordination for IT O&M activities supporting EFMSS systems and associated applications. The position is responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring, and controlling project activities; managing risks and resources; overseeing deliverables; coordinating with the Program Management Office and related projects; and ensuring successful project execution in accordance with established requirements, schedules, quality standards, and change management processes.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Serve as the primary project management authority for assigned IT O&M activities.
- Plan, organize, and control project activities to support successful completion of project objectives.
- Design and apply an appropriate project management framework.
- Develop, maintain, and implement the Project Management Plan.
- Plan and monitor project schedules, activities, milestones, deliverables, and resources.
- Manage production and delivery of required project deliverables.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage project risks.
- Develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies for identified risks.
- Monitor overall project progress and resource utilization.
- Initiate corrective action when project performance, schedule, resources, or deliverables require adjustment.
- Manage project change control and configuration management activities.
- Coordinate system changes through established change management processes.
- Ensure appropriate system and security impact analyses are performed for proposed changes.
- Coordinate system change reviews and implementations with other vendors and technical organizations.
- Serve as liaison with the Program Management Office and related projects.
- Maintain established project reporting requirements and communicate project status through appropriate reporting channels.
- Coordinate with project assurance personnel to maintain project direction and integrity.
- Establish and maintain appropriate technical and quality strategies.
- Identify and obtain necessary technical support and subject matter expertise.
- Monitor project performance against established objectives and requirements.
- Conduct end-of-project and post-project evaluations.
- Prepare end-project and post-project reports.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, planning, scheduling, risk management, and change control.
- Knowledge of IT operations and maintenance environments.
- Knowledge of project governance, quality assurance, and configuration management.
- Ability to manage multiple technical activities, resources, schedules, and deliverables.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible project management experience.
- Experience managing IT projects involving multiple technical disciplines, stakeholders, or vendors.
- Experience developing project plans, schedules, status reports, risk assessments, and project deliverables.
- Required to successfully pass a background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field.
Pay and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $149,000 to $152,000.
