This position is responsible for the execution of various strategic value-added reimbursement initiatives and any reimbursement methodology related to Medicare and Medicaid having reimbursement implications to our system. This position is also responsible for data gathering, periodic reporting, analysis, and understanding the operations of University of Utah Health.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Takes the lead with periodic reviews, year-end audits and compliance activities in support of external auditors and the internal finance operation.
- Functions as internal business partner to operations including finance directors and executive directors of the various entities as well as the Accounting Department.
- Prepares and interprets management information and other financial reports.
- Analyzes and audits cost data, patient level financial data, and other statistics.
- Audits accounting systems, reconciles data, and resolves technical problems or recommends solutions, when appropriate.
- Analyzes trends and possible consequences.
- Implements, and potentially leads, performance improvement initiatives.
- Spearheads the preparation and evaluation of special projects.
- Organizes and prioritizes multiple projects; determines the best course of action or appropriate resources needed to complete a project or address a problem; obtains valid data and creates clear and understandable reports which reflect the data being sought.

- Demonstrated knowledge of information technology, database systems, and data reporting tools.

- Ability to interpret regulations to ensure the organization is in compliance with Federal, State and other requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing working relationships.
- Must be comfortable analyzing financial data and interpreting cost reports for executives.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Finance, Accounting, a related field, or the equivalency.
- Four years of experience in a similar position.

Preferred
- Master's degree in Business Administration, or equivalency.
