ROLE: QA Technician
REPORTS TO: QA Manager
LOCATION: 695 Derwent Way, Delta BC (On-site)
WAGE: $37 (Teamsters Union Local 464)
SHIFT: Must be able to work varied shifts 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. We are filling multiple positions on day, afternoon and overnight shifts. Must be able to work all shifts.
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Quality Assurance team! Our Quality Assurance Technician will help us ensure the fast and accurate handling of documents and products/material tests to support the quality team.

Experience
- You have a Degree/Diploma in Food Science/Food Technology or related discipline
- You have experience working in a similar capacity, preferably in a food production facility or a food testing lab
Nice-to-Have
- You have experience troubleshooting complex QA issues

- Ensure products meet company and regulatory standards by running tests, inspections, reports, internal and external audits
- Help manage all QA and QC records, documents, and samples pertaining to HACCP and CFIA, etc.
- Carry out lab testing including micro test, organoleptic evaluation and other plant base and dairy quality tests
- Verification of all sanitation activities pertaining to preoperational inspections, swabbing, calibration, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory equipment

Detailed Description of Duties:
- Monitors raw batches of product and tests for compliance to specifications such as fat, total solids, brix, acidity, viscosity, density and vitamin C
- Fixes and standardizes batches that are out of specification
- Monitors finished product as to the product specification, filler temperature, weight and codes
- Monitors plant sanitation (solution concentration tests)
- Tests finished product at end of code
- Prepares Micro analysis of finished products after pre-incubation
- Conducts Standard plating- SPC, OSA, VRBA
- Monitors the Allergen Control Program using protein swabs and allergen test kits
- Conduct swabbing and other sampling following environmental monitoring program.
- Perform bulk receiving testing (milk, soy, chai, sugar, oat)
- Customer Complaint investigations and testing.
- Report process deviations and product failures and assist in the investigation
- Verification of sanitation activities, including preoperational inspections, swabbing, and communicating corrective actions to production personnel.
- HACCP/GMP monitoring and verification
- Completing and filing accurate and legible QA records and documentation.
- Calibration, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Repetitive lifting to 12 kg
- Other duties as assigned
