Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function.
  • Experience executing full-cycle FP&A functions including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and modeling within a multinational company setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in developing strategies in fast-moving engaged environments, impeccable business judgment for resource allocation decisions to achieve the desired business outcome.
  • Experience and proficiency in data analytics, financial modeling, and SQL.
  • Experience with building data infrastructure (designing architecture, building data pipelines, implementing scalable monitoring) and implementing reporting solutions.
  • Ability to work with data to produce analysis, influencing decision making with numerical analysis and generating insights.
  • Ability to take ownership, confidence to interact with all levels, set objectives, drive results, and be a team player.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with a wide variety of departments.

As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

The scale of the business requires a deep financial acumen across multiple business domains, including planning, analytics, process, and governance.

As a financial analyst on the Platform and Devices Central financial planning and analysis (FP&A) team, you’ll provide financial oversight across the entire Platform and Devices portfolio, interacting regularly with leadership including Financial Planning and Analysis Directors, the BFO, and Platform and Devices Leadership team. You’ll provide analysis that spans across products (such as currency fluctuations and expense allocations) to influence strategy and evaluate performance while leading our financial processes across the product area.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $116000 - $166000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Drive strategic financial modeling and analysis on critical drivers (e.g., currency fluctuations, cross-product expense allocations) shaping the Platform and Devices portfolio, translating complex data into actionable insights to advise product FP&A and leadership.
  • Serve as a key strategic partner to Platform and Devices and Corporate leadership, driving high-priority executive deliverables from conception to completion, including evaluating product area level OKR metrics with the Chief of Staff and advising Controllership on Audit Committee inquiries.
  • Own the comprehensive Platform and Devices profit and loss outlook, serving as the key finance lead to proactively identify and assess risks and opportunities, manage financial reserves, and influence executive decision-making with high-impact presentations.
  • Lead and optimize Platform and Devices-wide FP&A reporting frameworks, partnering across teams to enhance data integrity, streamline processes, and deliver timely financial intelligence that drives business visibility.
