Full description

We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

Finance strategically partners with operations to drive outstanding business results and enhance Ford’s industry leadership. When you join us, you’ll be able to contribute financial expertise that impacts all areas of our company, including planning, manufacturing, marketing and global distribution.

In this position...

  • Traditionally, a career in Finance can mean highly structured work, narrow scopes, and a focus on established paths. Our team is helping redefine that experience.
  • We operate with an entrepreneurial mindset within a global enterprise, building innovative Data Products for the Product Development (PD) Finance organization. We leverage modern Business Intelligence, Cloud Data Platforms, Advanced Analytics, and are exploring emerging AI capabilities to solve complex, long-standing business challenges. The products we build directly influence vehicle program investments, engineering efficiency, cost optimization, and strategic decision-making across Ford.
  • We are a high-trust, collaborative team that champions each other's success. We value meaningful impact, continuous learning, and delivering solutions that make a difference. We believe the best ideas emerge when talented people are empowered to experiment, challenge assumptions, and work together to solve complex problems.
  • If you are a builder, analytical thinker, and lifelong learner who wants to apply data, analytics, and AI to solve real business challenges and influence strategic decisions at Ford, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Develop Core Data Products: Design, build, and deploy scalable data products (combining BI, Cloud Data, and AI/ML) that replace manual processes across PD Finance and enable faster, more informed decision-making.
  • Drive Cost & Efficiency Insights: Analyze complex datasets—including Bills of Materials (BOM), supplier quotes, and engineering specifications—to identify, quantify, and track material cost savings and waste reduction.
  • Master & Build the Tech Stack: Design secure data pipelines and data models on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery. Write optimized SQL and Python to automate analyses, build predictive models, and generate actionable insights.
  • Architect Practical AI Solutions: Explore and prototype AI-enabled solutions that improve how finance and engineering teams access, understand, and interact with data.
  • Storytelling with Data: Build dynamic Power BI dashboards that translate highly complex technical and financial data into clear, intuitive insights for engineering and senior finance leadership.
  • Excellence (Deliver It & Own It): You are a creative problem solver. When you see a broken or manual process, your first instinct is to ask, "How can we automate or outsmart this?" You take absolute ownership of your code, models, and data quality.
  • Focus (Do Only What Matters & Bias for Action): You are relentlessly curious, highly self-motivated, and comfortable with ambiguity. You prioritize projects based on business impact, choosing the most efficient tool (whether BigQuery, Python, SQL, or an LLM) to deliver fast, repeatable value.
  • Collaboration (Seek to Understand & Solve Together): You do not thrive on individual recognition if it detracts from the team. You actively seek to learn from others, share your technical expertise to upskill your peers, and focus on what is right for Ford overall.

Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related highly quantitative field.
  • Technical Aptitude & Agility: A proven track record of teaching yourself new technical tools. You have a strong baseline in a few platforms, are fearless about learning the rest, and enjoy bringing structure to complex business problems.
  • Analytical Curiosity: You want to know how the "big machine" works, specifically how engineering decisions impact material costs and capital spending, and how data can help drive better outcomes.
  • Collaborative Mindset, High Impact: You take pride in delivering high-quality solutions, share knowledge freely, and focus on achieving the best outcomes for the team and the business. You bring energy, ownership, and a strong drive to create meaningful business value.
  • Data Foundations: Strong experience in SQL and querying large, complex datasets; experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)/BigQuery or similar cloud platforms is highly valued.
  • Analytics & Automation: Experience using Python (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn or similar) to build predictive models, perform feature engineering, and automate workflows.
  • Visualization: Power BI dashboard design and data storytelling.
  • Financial Literacy: Strong understanding of financial principles, including cost forecasting, NPV/ROI modeling, budgeting, and capital investment analysis.

Even better you'll have...

  • A hybrid finance and data professional who can connect financial drivers (cost, ROI, capital) with scalable data and analytics solutions, whether coming from a finance background with strong data skills or a data background with solid business and finance understanding.
