The Business Analyst will gather and document functional requirements while acting as a bridge between clients and development teams to manage project lifecycles. They are responsible for mapping supply chain processes and overseeing the modernization of ERP and e-commerce platform integrations.
What they look for
Requirements
Candidates must have 5-8 years of experience in business analysis with specific expertise in mid-market ERP systems and e-commerce platforms. A strong background in supply chain management and experience with ERP-to-e-commerce integration projects is mandatory.
Full description
We’re looking for a business analyst with strong domain knowledge in supply chain management to gather requirements, document solutions, and align clients and delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle. The role also covers platform assessment, rebuild, and modernization programs for B2B/B2C commerce and distribution businesses, so hands-on BA experience on a mid-market ERP and on an e-commerce platform—including the integration between the two—is mandatory, not a nice-to-have. EDI/B2B standards knowledge is a plus. This role focuses on the B2B/B2C retail and industrial distribution vertical.
Job Title: Sr. Business Analyst
Experience: 5–8 Years
Location: Pune / Ahmedabad
Education: Engineering background / MBA preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and document business/functional requirements (BRD, FRD, user stories) with clear acceptance criteria and backlog management.
- Analyze and map supply chain processes—procurement, inventory, warehousing, logistics, order management, and distribution.
- Act as the bridge between clients and development teams; support QA/UAT.
- Manage change requests, impact analysis, and revised estimates/SOWs.
- Maintain issue logs, risk registers, and project trackers alongside PMs/POs.
- Build business capability maps and functional inventories of existing ERP / e-commerce platforms—confirming with business stakeholders and incumbent technical teams which capabilities remain relevant, which are redundant and which are new — and convert them into a signed-off rebuild or re-platforming requirements baseline.
- Document current-state ERP to e-commerce integration flows (orders, inventory, pricing, customers, fulfillment, returns) and support evaluation of the target integration approach—integration hub, point-to-point, or a purpose-built integration layer—including adoption of native platform APIs in place of bespoke middleware.
- Support target-state architecture options, phased modernization roadmaps, and effort/timeline estimation, with the required depth, assumptions, and dependencies needed.
- Work alongside AI / LLM-assisted discovery: review and validate AI-generated functional findings with the business, flag gaps, and never carry unverified output into a requirements baseline.
- Good to have: working knowledge of EDI transaction sets and B2B integration/data mapping concepts.
Requirements
- 5–8 years as a business analyst in IT services or product development, ideally with supply chain/ERP/logistics exposure.
- Hands-on BA experience at least on one mid-market ERP (Sage, Infor System21, NetSuite, SAP Business One, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or similar), covering order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory, and finance touchpoints.
- Hands-on BA experience on at least one e-commerce platform (Shopify / Shopify Plus, Magento / Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce, or similar), covering catalogue, pricing, cart/checkout, order, and customer data.
- Demonstrated experience on ERP–e-commerce integration projects: process and data mapping across order, inventory, pricing, customer, and fulfillment objects, and a working understanding of native platform APIs versus custom middleware.
- Experience on discovery, assessment, or re-platforming engagements—current-state assessment, target-state options, gap analysis, phased roadmap, and effort & timeline estimation—rather than steady-state enhancement work alone.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
- Hands-on experience with Jira/Azure Boards, Confluence, SharePoint, Figma, and process-diagramming tools.
- Basic understanding of APIs/integrations; EDI/B2B exposure a plus.
- Strong Agile/Scrum experience.
- Comfortable producing client-grade documentation under formal governance—decision log, RAID, acceptance criteria, and per-deliverable sign-off gates.
- Must be comfortable with early morning hours overlapping with the AEST timezone.
- Strong communication skills and experience with formal Agile ceremonies, including daily standups and weekly steering committee calls.
Good to Have
- Scrum Practitioner/Scrum Master certification.
- Supply chain certifications (CSCP, CPIM).
- Awareness of integration hub / iPaaS products (MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services, or similar).
- Familiarity with secure SDLC practices and AI-assisted development guardrails—where AI-generated artifacts are permitted, and how they are reviewed.
- Experience supporting supplier/key-person risk mitigation and structured knowledge transfer or exit planning.
- Familiarity with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles; experience in adhering to strict data residency and handling protocols for customer, order, and fulfillment data.
