Full description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable broadband connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From households to small businesses, schools, hospitals, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve communities and organizations operating in places without dependable internet access.

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager - Technical (PMT) to own the software that enables our customers to connect to the Leo Network. In this role, you will define the products and features that connect customers to the Internet, private networks, and the AWS cloud. You will work at the intersection of networking engineering, satellite systems, and customer experience to build software that enables a differentiated customer experience for consumers, enterprises, and the public sector.

This is a high-visibility role that requires deep technical acumen in embedded software, networking, strong product sense, and the ability to influence across engineering, business, and leadership. You will own the device software roadmap from concept through launch, write PRFAQs and technical requirements, and represent the customer in every architectural decision.

Key job responsibilities Own the end-to-end software stack powering devices for Leo, including embedded software, networking, and fleet management systems.

Define and drive the software roadmap across multiple device families supporting consumers, enterprises, and public sector customers.

Partner with Principal Engineers and SDEs to prioritize and implement security, usability, and performance capabilities for our customer devices.

Write PRFAQs, technical narratives, and requirement documents to secure resources and align leadership on the device software roadmap.

Collaborate with sales, demand management, and capacity management to gather customer requirements and translate them into product features.

Work cross-functionally with the network infrastructure team to align our customer facing product strategy.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

A day in the life Your morning starts with a review of overnight testing results — checking key indicators that tell us how our devices are working. You notice a pattern and make a note to work with your engineering team to identify a solution that will impact millions of customers.

Mid-morning, you’re in a design review with engineering to debate the architecture of a new feature for enterprise customers. You push for a data-driven approach, proposing a novel solution that enables us to deliver a prototype faster to get additional customer feedback on our direction.

After lunch, you’re on a call with an large customer’s network architect who wants to understand how Amazon Leo antennas work with their existing network infrastructure. You walk them through Leo’s technology architecture, the telemetry we expose, and discuss improvements they’d like us to build.

In the afternoon, you’re drafting the PRFAQ for a new feature. You collaborate with a principal engineer to ensure the technical approach is sound, and align with sales, other PMs, and finance teams on the financial impact. You end the day with a quick sync with the software development leader to review our plan for a major software release.
