Meet the Team Core to the health and growth of our business, Millennium’s Information Technology organization develops flexible, scalable technology and advanced proprietary systems that support the firm’s active, multi-manager business model. Within this environment, the SPEED Market Data team is focused on high-performance, real-time market data infrastructure that underpins systematic trading. The team works across low-latency and enterprise environments to build, maintain, and enhance resilient market data systems with a strong emphasis on stability, accuracy, speed, and operational excellence.
What You'll Do
- Support and manage both enterprise and latency-sensitive real-time market data environments, including internal, vendor, and exchange-driven changes
- Partner with Portfolio Managers, trading desks, and core technology teams to support users of the market data platform and address evolving business needs
- Help shape the team’s technical direction by driving platform enhancements and new engineering initiatives
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams across the firm to build real-time market data processing and distribution systems
- Optimize platform performance through network and systems programming techniques designed to reduce latency and improve reliability
- Design and build tools that automate support and platform management, including monitoring, real-time and historical metrics, visualization, and self-service administrative capabilities
- Strengthen operational processes and workflows across release management, incident response, remediation, exchange notification handling, and SLA enforcement
- Contribute to the stability and evolution of the global market data plant across both low-latency and non-latency-sensitive environments
What You Bring
- Experience supporting market data environments within a global organization, including internally developed feed handlers and distribution infrastructure\
- Strong understanding of market data concepts, including data models, messaging protocols, order book structures, recovery, and reliability mechanisms
- Technical background in developing and supporting complex market data systems, including platforms such as Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters
- Hands-on site reliability engineering or operational expertise, including system administration, automation, measurement, and release or deployment management
- Experience with monitoring, metrics, and command-and-control capabilities for distributed market data platforms, with the ability to assess current solutions and drive improvements\
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with strong object-oriented programming or scripting experience
- Solid understanding of Linux internals, networking, and CPU architecture, with the ability to apply that knowledge to high-performance systems
- Strong prioritization, communication, relationship management, and ownership skills, with a detail-oriented approach in fast-moving, high-pressure environments
