The Technical Project Manager is a trusted project implementation leader and advisor to our clients providing valuable expert guidance around technology implementations, relocations, or enhancements of their IT infrastructure, including proactive recommendations to deliver ongoing success to our clients. In this role, the Project Manager will develop relationships that lead to a total technology solution that will meet the client’s needs and that will deliver additional products and services while increasing sales, profitability, and maintaining client loyalty and retention through project implementation. The Project Manager is responsible for providing project planning & execution leadership and is the top-level escalation point for project implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage site level and/or enterprise-wide projects.
  • May manage multisite programs to ensure consistency with a common customer.
  • Apply PMI methodology and internal processes to partners with key stakeholders to define project technology scope, budget, schedule and deliverable expectations.
  • Develop complex project schedules with Microsoft project beginner to intermediate level.
  • Interact with diverse personalities both internally and externally and develop business relationship skills for repeatable assignments to the customer.
  • Implement project timelines and plans, target clients and ensures that projects meet client objectives through project implementation, subject matter experts, clients and vendor partners to elicit, document, and validate client IT facilities requirements using site visits and client interviews.
  • Hold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects.
  • Lead client project update meetings on and manage changes in project scope on a regular basis to review project status, potential risks and general project scheduling.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
  • Engage in self-directed continuous improvement of project planning & execution.

Qualifications

  • College or University degree or comparable experience in project management
  • Ability to apply project management methodologies and strategies to reduce potential project risk throughout the duration of the project lifecycle.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities moving project(s) to completion.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation and ability to demonstrate client sensitivity.
  • High-level understanding of Cloud Implementations and Migrations involving Microsoft Office 365. And Azure. Networks, routers, firewalls, switching, circuits, wireless access points and workstation profile setups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project & Visio.
  • Capable of multitasking in a high pace environment, effectively and efficiently.

Preferred Skills

  • PMP or similar certifications a plus
  • Managed services provider (MSP) experience preferred.
  • High- level understanding of IT-related construction projects including IT cable plant design, IT room layout, IT room ready requirements. WAP placement.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in an independent environment with moderate supervision
  • Ability to work under a moderate noise level (i.e. working on an open floor with printers, telephones, and computers)
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines (including late nights and weekends)
  • Ability to travel for business and work beyond normal business hours when necessary
  • Ability to be flexible and successfully respond to multiple work pressures
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
