Position Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the analysis of the company’s monthly operating results, the development of short and long term financial and production forecasts, management of credit requirements and other special projects.
In This Role, You Will
- Perform complex financial analysis supporting BSM’s financial forecasts, annual budget process, long-range planning activities, and management of credit facilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models used to evaluate performance, support strategic initiatives and capital allocation decisions, and inform management decision-making
- Analyze reserve reports, production trends, drilling activity, and basin developments to support production forecasts, budgets, and other financial analyses
- Support senior management in the development of strategy, objectives, and action to meet BSM’s growth plans
- Assist in the development of materials for the Board of Directors and investors, including financial performance summaries, market trends, and forward-looking projections
- Manage multiple work streams efficiently to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Perform other incidental related duties and other special projects, as required
What We Require
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field
- At least three to five (3-5) years of relevant work experience within one of the following areas: corporate finance, investment banking, or consulting
- Mastery of Excel, including constructing detailed financial models
- Solid interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a small team environment as well as cross functionally throughout the organization
- Self-starter with ability to function independently
- Ability to model complex scenarios with little guidance
- Precise computation & analytical skills
- Rapid problem-solving ability
- Working knowledge of the oil and gas industry, strongly preferred (experience with relevant technical software such as Enverus and SpotFire a plus)
