Full description

Software Engineer, QA & Platform Support

As a Software Engineer, QA & Platform Support, you will help ensure that internal software platform is reliable, easy to use, and ready to support our growing audit operations. You will work closely with our Senior Engineer to test new features, validate code changes, support deployments, and help keep the platform running smoothly.

Your primary responsibility will be testing new features and code changes to confirm they work as intended and do not break existing functionality. You will provide an independent second set of eyes throughout the release process, checking both individual features and the broader workflows our team relies on every day.

This is a hands-on engineering role that extends beyond testing. You will also investigate and fix bugs, perform routine maintenance, and provide technical guidance to internal staff. As you develop a deeper understanding of the platform, you will have opportunities to contribute to development and take ownership of specific features or improvements.

What you’ll do as a Software Engineer, QA & Platform Support

● Test new features and code changes. Validate changes in development or staging environments before release, checking expected behavior, edge cases, error handling, and usability.

● Check for regressions. Test related features and critical end-to-end workflows to confirm that new changes have not broken existing functionality.

● Document issues and verify fixes. Create clear bug reports with reproduction steps, expected and actual results, and supporting screenshots or logs. Retest fixes and communicate any remaining release concerns.

● Support deployments and release checks. Help prepare and deploy approved changes through established processes, verify that deployments complete successfully, and perform post-release checks.

● Build repeatable testing processes. Maintain practical test cases and release checklists and help introduce automated tests for important or frequently repeated workflows.

● Troubleshoot, fix, and maintain the platform. Investigate application issues, contribute code fixes, and perform maintenance tasks in coordination with our Senior Engineer.

● Support internal staff. Help team members use the platform effectively, troubleshoot reported problems, and provide technical coverage when our Senior Engineer is unavailable. Document solutions and escalate issues when needed.

Contribute to feature development. Help implement smaller features and improvements, with opportunities to take ownership of defined areas of the platform over time

Requirements for role:

  • Experience with deployment pipelines, staging environments, and production troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with SQL, relational databases, authentication, and user permissions
  • Experience writing automated tests using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks
  • Experience with React, Next.js, Supabase, or Vercel
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, and comfort collaborating with a US-based team.
  • Hands-on software development experience, including the ability to read, debug, and modify application code.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript and modern web applications.
  • Experience testing web applications, reproducing bugs, and validating fixes.
  • Familiarity with Git, branches, and pull requests.
  • Ability to troubleshoot using browser developer tools, application logs, and API responses.
  • Willingness to work across testing, bug fixes, maintenance, and internal support, with QA and release validation remaining the primary focus.
