Job Title: Sr. Database Engineer

Department: Business Intelligence & Operations

Summary:

The Senior Database Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining our internal data warehouse. This role focuses on architecting a warehouse structure that will enable data to be operationally used across the organization.

This will involve ingestion, transformation of, and delivering high-quality data from a variety of internal and external sources into our cloud-based data ecosystem. Resulting in stronger reliability, governance, and long‑term sustainability.

On day one, you will develop robust ELT pipelines, establish engineering best practices, and partner closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver a unified, trusted data ecosystem that powers advanced analytics, reporting, machine learning, and consumer engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines to ingest data from various sources to optimize ETL/ELT workflows to efficiently process large volumes of data
  • Lead end‑to‑end data architecture decisions and development to ensure scalability, reliability, and long‑term platform evolution
  • Work across platforms to integrate data from CRM and ticketing platforms, CDP, website, mobile app, and external systems into a unified, reliable ecosystem
  • Establish best‑practices in warehouse architecture that ensures consistency, governance, and high‑quality data across the platform
  • Ensure pipelines are fault-tolerant, observable, and recoverable with appropriate logging and alerting system
  • Oversee and deploy cost-optimization strategies as it relates to our data infrastructure
  • Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual workflows and improve pipeline reliability
  • Contribute to improving data accessibility and usability across the organization.
  • Support both batch and streaming architecture where applicable
  • Document data pipelines, data sources, and system architecture
  • Coach engineer(s) through code reviews, technical guidance, and support in developing strong engineering practices
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to translate business needs into scalable data solutions
  • Continuously improve pipeline performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and special projects assigned by the Sr. Vice President of Business Strategy & Operations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data engineering, computer science, Information Systems, Data Science or similar field
  • Minimum of 5 years of data engineering experience
  • Expert understanding of both relational and non-relational databases and query optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with APIs, data ingestion patterns, and data integration techniques with a strong understanding of distributed data processing and storage concepts
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex data issues
  • Experience implementing data governance practices, including data quality frameworks, data lineage, metadata management, access controls, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with BI teams, marketers, and other business stakeholders to translate data requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred experience with Tableau, Salesforce, Ticketmaster, Fanatics systems and data
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evening, weekends, and holidays as needed

The expected range of annual salary/hourly rate and potential commission, if applicable, is included below. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this/these range(s) will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market and industry considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure, performance, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.

Annual Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00
