Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Network Engineer with a strong focus on Cisco Security to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate has 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience maintaining network operations, configuring firewalls, and securing IT environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability and integrity of our systems by implementing security policies and troubleshooting network issues.

Responsibilities

  • Device Management: Configure, install, and manage Cisco network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Security Implementation: Enforce network security protocols, including configuring VPNs, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and NAT rules.
  • Incident Response & Support: Troubleshoot and resolve Tier-2/3 network issues, identify security incidents, and assist with root cause analysis.
  • System Maintenance: Perform routine network maintenance, firmware upgrades, and security patch management on Cisco and related security hardware.
  • Monitoring & Auditing: Monitor network performance, track security alerts, and run audits to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, configuration backups, and security policies.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2 to 3 years of professional, hands-on experience in network engineering and security administration.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is mandatory. CCNP (Enterprise or Security) or equivalent firewall certifications (e.g., PCNSA) are a plus.

Core Technical Skills

  • Cisco Ecosystem: Strong understanding of Cisco routing and switching concepts (VLANs, OSPF, BGP).
  • Security Platforms: Familiarity with Cisco security solutions (e.g., Cisco ASA, Firepower, or ISE).
  • Protocols & Services: Solid grasp of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and RADIUS / TACACS+ authentication.

Soft Skills

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to isolate and resolve complex technical issues quickly.
  • Communication: Ability to write clear reports and articulate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
  • Team Player: Capacity to work well within cross-functional IT and security teams.
