Job Summary:

We are seeking a QA Engineer to join our team and ensure the delivery of high-quality products. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing and verifying Web, API, and database platforms and creating test plans. Duties include writing and executing test scripts, analyzing results, tracking defects, and reporting outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience testing web-based and API systems and possess strong attention to detail. We are looking for a proactive, collaborative, and results-driven individual who is willing to go the extra mile to meet expectations in a fast-paced environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Write, manage and execute functional, integration, API and user acceptance testing plans
  • Test case planning based on business and functional/technical requirements
  • Exploratory testing and utilization of targeted manual testing to identify issues
  • Participate in sprint planning and requirements review meetings.
  • Participate in troubleshooting applications and systems issues.
  • Identify, document and track bug tickets in JIRA
  • Communicate with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
  • Provide guidance to non-technical team members researching technical issues
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues in partnership with our Reliability Engineering team as well and DevOps and Application Development teams.

Skills/Abilities/Experience:

  • At least 3 years of work experience in software development and testing.
  • Must have hands-on experience designing and executing functional, GUI and API tests.
  • Have strong understanding of QA methodologies, efficient testing strategies, and modern best practices.
  • Understanding of all phases of SDLC (especially Agile/SCRUM environment)
  • Working knowledge of testing tools including: ChromeDevTool, Postman, TestRail.
  • Must have experience creating detailed test plans/test cases that cover all positive and negative scenarios.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent level of industry experience.
  • Communicates and collaborates with product developers, direct manager and engineering peers to develop solutions
  • Is responsive to assigned Bugs / hotfixes
  • Possesses a basic understanding of MPulse’s business
  • Has successfully participated in the completion and release of production builds
  • Regularly has work reviewed by senior QA engineers and applies feedback

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and sit for extended period of time.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. weight.
