The Network team is responsible for the architecture, engineering and operation of QRT’s global trading and enterprise networks. The Principal Network Engineer is a senior individual contributor responsible for deep technical leadership, complex problem-solving and continuous engineering improvement. Working closely with network leadership and engineering teams, you will ensure complex technical problems are resolved effectively, architectural standards are translated into usable engineering practices, and the network becomes increasingly scalable, supportable and resilient without creating individual points of dependency.

Your future role within QRT:

  • Lead investigations into complex performance, latency, resilience and operational issues.
  • Act as a senior technical escalation point for network teams.
  • Turn architecture standards into implementation patterns, automation, validation, documentation and runbooks.
  • Lead or support complex changes, migrations and technical improvement work.
  • Evaluate new technologies and improve existing designs and operating practices.
  • Implement effective instrumentation and use operational data to identify problems and improvements.
  • Mentor engineers and spread knowledge across the function.

Your Present Skillset:

  • Deep hands-on experience designing, operating and troubleshooting complex networks.
  • Strong knowledge of WAN, data-centre networking, BGP, multicast, and ultra low-latency environments.
  • Strong packet-analysis, telemetry and structured troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong knowledge of financial market architectures
  • Experience with automation, source-controlled configuration, validation and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of FPGA-connected network paths.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions.
