There is flexibility in the work schedule/core hours and even in the work you do sprint to sprint once the burning hot issues have been resolved following your initial onboarding.
The Solutions Architect is responsible for providing technical leadership and delivering customer-focused software, cloud, and IT solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position works directly with development teams, stakeholders, and customer leadership to establish and maintain the organization's technical vision, enterprise architecture, and technology roadmap. The Solutions Architect designs and maintains scalable, reliable, secure, and cloud-based architectures that align with customer mission objectives, technical requirements, and industry best practices while supporting full-stack applications, collection systems, network solutions, and enterprise services.
The individual will identify technical gaps and develop strategies to address them, evaluate emerging technologies, and recommend innovative solutions that improve operational capabilities. Working collaboratively with software engineers, AI/ML engineers, data scientists, analysts, project managers, and external partners, the Solutions Architect establishes technical standards, leads the design and implementation of AWS cloud solutions, identifies opportunities to leverage AI and other emerging technologies, prepares technical briefings and documentation, and ensures project objectives are achieved on schedule while meeting customer and user requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring alignment with customer technical requirements, enterprise architecture, and industry best practices.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, secure, and cloud-enabled technical architectures supporting enterprise systems and applications.
Identify technical gaps, assess risks, and develop implementation strategies to improve system performance, maintainability, and operational effectiveness.
Evaluate emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and cloud services, recommending adoption where they improve mission outcomes.
Design, implement, and support AWS cloud-based solutions that emphasize scalability, security, resiliency, and cost-effectiveness.
Develop and maintain technical standards, architecture guidelines, and best practices across development teams.
Collaborate with software engineers, AI/ML engineers, data scientists, analysts, project managers, stakeholders, and external partners to define technical direction and deliver enterprise solutions.
Support development of technical roadmaps that align technology investments with customer mission objectives and long-term business goals.
Understand the customer's existing application landscape and recommend modernization efforts, architectural improvements, and new capabilities.
Communicate technical plans, architectural decisions, and project status clearly and effectively with all stakeholders.
Prepare and deliver technical briefings, architecture presentations, and project updates upon request.
Establish, maintain, and manage technical documentation within customer repositories.
Ensure project objectives are achieved on schedule while meeting customer requirements, security standards, and operational needs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum eight (8) years of experience in software engineering, systems architecture, enterprise architecture, or related technical leadership roles.
Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale software solutions, cloud architectures, and distributed systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated experience in full-stack software development utilizing multiple programming languages, frameworks, and modern development technologies.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing technical architectures for complex enterprise systems, including web applications, collection systems, network solutions, and cloud-based environments.
Hands-on experience designing, implementing, administering, and optimizing AWS cloud solutions.
Experience evaluating and implementing emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and automation capabilities.
Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, system scalability, security, reliability, and performance optimization.
Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate a clear technical vision aligned with customer mission requirements and business objectives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills with experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams and customer organizations.
Experience developing technical standards, architectural guidance, and engineering best practices.
Experience preparing technical documentation, architecture artifacts, and executive-level briefings.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
Certification: TOGAF certification or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification.
Experience developing and implementing enterprise AI/ML solutions.
Experience supporting enterprise modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
Experience developing long-term technology roadmaps and innovation strategies.
Experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) or other Federal Government customers.
