  • Observe existing manual processes, collect operational data, and identify opportunities to automate workflows and reduce manual intervention.
  • Map current-state and future-state manufacturing processes, including process flows, work instructions, and operational procedures.
  • Gather requirements from production, quality, maintenance, warehouse, and supply chain teams.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, repetitive tasks, data-entry issues, and opportunities for digital transformation.
  • Translate manufacturing requirements into functional specifications, business requirements documents (BRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with IT, software development, automation, and engineering teams to implement system solutions.
  • Support automation initiatives involving manufacturing applications, ERP systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and shop-floor data collection.
  • Assist with system integration requirements between shop-floor equipment, production systems, MES, and ERP platforms.
  • Coordinate functional testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), production trials, and implementation activities.
  • Validate automated workflows with shop-floor users and ensure solutions meet operational and business requirements.
  • Track issues, document process changes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Hands-on exposure to shop-floor operations and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience analyzing manual workflows and identifying opportunities for process automation.
  • Strong skills in requirements gathering, process mapping, gap analysis, and functional documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with production operators, plant supervisors, engineers, and IT teams.
  • Experience supporting system implementation, testing, UAT, and process improvements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP systems, production tracking, and shop-floor data collection.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, or other manufacturing applications.
  • Knowledge of PLC/SCADA systems, industrial automation, or machine-to-system integration is a plus.
  • Experience with digital manufacturing, paperless workflows, production monitoring, and real-time operational reporting.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, or continuous improvement methodologies.

Ideal Candidate: A hands-on Manufacturing Business Analyst who can spend time on the shop floor, understand how production processes actually work, identify manual activities that can be automated, and partner with business and technical teams to convert those requirements into practical system solutions.
