Join our Liquid Analysis team in Shakopee, MN, as a Software Engineering Manager, leading and developing engineers working across embedded software, test automation, new product development, and sustaining engineering for process analytical products used worldwide.

This is more than a traditional people-leadership role. You'll have the opportunity to help shape a growing global software team, develop engineering capability, strengthen how we plan and execute work, and partner closely with technical and engineering leaders to deliver an important new generation of products — become part of a team that’s growing, learning, and focused on delivering results!

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of embedded software and test engineers, providing clear expectations, meaningful feedback, development opportunities, and support for individual growth.
  • Build team capability by coaching engineers in ownership, planning, software development practices, collaboration, and effective execution, helping individuals grow while strengthening overall team capability and performance.
  • Partner closely with software engineering leadership to establish priorities, align on plans and decisions, and maintain shared visibility as needs, risks, commitments, and resource demands change.
  • Translate aligned priorities into clear plans, ownership, and executable work, helping coordinate engineers across projects and reporting boundaries and supporting Agile/Scrum planning and execution.
  • Provide broader engineering leadership in areas such as embedded software development, test automation and architecture, software project execution, and engineering processes, based on organizational needs and individual expertise.
  • Build alignment across technical leads, project teams, and global partners by sharing context, clarifying direction, resolving ambiguity, managing tradeoffs, and addressing risks early.
  • Help establish, reinforce, and continuously improve shared engineering processes, tools, and ways of working, including Azure DevOps, while ensuring disciplined execution of our SDLA and IEC 62443-4-1 aligned practices.
  • Partner with senior technical leaders to strengthen software and test architecture, technical execution, engineering capability, and adoption of emerging approaches including AI-assisted engineering.
  • Create a collaborative and accountable engineering environment where people communicate openly, develop their capabilities, solve problems together, and take ownership for delivering high-quality results.

WHO YOU ARE: You partner with others to get work done. You break down objectives into appropriate initiatives and actions. You develop others through coaching, feedback, exposure and stretch assignment. You establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results. You show consistency between words and actions.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science
  • 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including experience leading engineers or technical teams
  • Demonstrated experience leading software engineering teams through coaching, capability building, alignment, clear expectations, and accountability to drive effective execution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

  • Background in embedded software, firmware, software test, or test automation, with the technical depth to effectively lead engineering teams.
  • Experience leading software development, test automation, or verification efforts across multiple engineers or cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum software development, including work breakdown, planning, risk management, and driving work through completion.
