Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a Staff Product Manager with a proven track record of building products end-to-end to own ACV’s vehicle inspection platform. The platform spans a portfolio of products that give our marketplace the trusted, transparent vehicle condition data it runs on. This is a staff-level individual-contributor role. You will own the long-term strategy and direction for the inspection platform, align the products and teams within it behind clear goals, and lead through influence rather than direct reports. You will set the bar for product craft in the area and set the direction that the other product managers in the space build on. You will be the champion for your products and the customers we obsess over daily, and you bring the judgment and strategic range to build great products that keep pace with our rapidly evolving business.
What you will do:
- Own the long-term strategy and roadmap for the inspection platform, aligning the products and teams within it behind shared goals and keeping everyone focused on the highest-value work.
- Partner with finance and executives to build the business cases and product targets that feed the annual operating plan, forecasting the impact of major bets across the portfolio and executing against those targets to drive growth.
- Drive discovery for new inspection capabilities and markets, and make the build, buy, or partner calls that decide where the platform invests.
- Set the standard for product craft in your area, defining how the team does AI-native full-stack work, prototype-led discovery, and analytical rigor. Own the AI adoption strategy and responsible-use guidelines, and build reusable AI skills and tools that speed up work across teams.
- Identify and head off strategic risks across the portfolio, and partner with data-platform teams to close the data gaps that slow PM self-service.
- Lead go-to-market planning for major launches that span multiple teams, defining success criteria and coordinating launch sequencing across Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
- Drive cross-functional alignment on multi-team initiatives, building relationships with leaders in adjacent functions like FP&A, legal, and corporate development to unlock opportunities and reduce friction.
- Reorient multi-team initiatives when the market, data, or AI capabilities shift, and evolve the processes and decision frameworks that help teams move faster.
- Mentor and sponsor PMs across multiple teams, help attract and grow senior product talent, and lead knowledge-sharing across the product org.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you will need:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Proven track record owning strategy and delivery for a product area or portfolio that spans multiple teams
- Fluency with AI-native product workflows, including rapid prototyping
- Product discovery, prioritization, product-strategy, and measurement (KPI) skills
- Business and financial acumen, including building business cases and financial models to present to executives
- Excellent communication and the ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority
- Experience mentoring and growing other PMs
- Strong customer focus and sound product judgment
- Direct experience in vehicle inspection, vehicle conditioning, or the automotive industry
- Go-to-market and release planning experience
Nice to have:
- Experience building platform or API products that other teams build on
- Experience with field-operations, mobile, or data-capture products
- Experience with products where data accuracy or trust is mission-critical, such as trust and safety, fraud, or quality
- Experience with condition-data or computer-vision/ML-powered products
- Technical depth, such as prior software engineering experience, fluency querying data with SQL, and comfort reading and reasoning about code.
