Job Description:

Role Purpose

The Data Analyst will support consumer product analytics across Dow Jones brands, focusing on understanding how users engage with our digital products and how product changes influence engagement, retention, and subscription outcomes.

This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to define success metrics, evaluate product performance and experiments, and uncover insights from behavioral data. The analyst will translate data into clear, actionable recommendations that help improve user experience and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product teams to define KPIs and measurement plans for new features and product initiatives.
  • Analyze subscriber and non-subscriber behavior across web and app experiences.
  • Measure feature adoption, engagement, retention, and other key product metrics.
  • Support the design and analysis of A/B tests and interpret experiment results.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to understand product performance trends and user behavior.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reporting for Product teams and stakeholders.
  • Translate analysis into clear insights, findings, and recommendations.
  • Work with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Validate tracking and instrumentation for new product features.
  • Support the development of standardized metrics and self-service reporting.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure business questions.
  • Experience analyzing digital product or customer behavior data.
  • Exposure to A/B testing or experimentation analysis.
  • Experience building dashboards in tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in subscription, media, or consumer digital products.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
  • Exposure to experimentation tools such as Statsig or Optimizely.
  • Experience working with event-based behavioral data.
  • Understanding of basic engagement, retention, and lifecycle metrics.
  • Basic Python skills for analysis (nice to have, not required).

Base Pay Range: $60,000 - $80,000
