The Medical Equipment Project Manager plays a key role in advancing this mission by severing Legacy’s critical path equipment, and taking projects through completion to operational occupancy in support of s of Legacy’s Planning, Design, and Construction team
Responsibilities
Medical Equipment Project Manager:
Serves as project manager for Legacy’s critical path equipment, taking projects through completion to operational occupancy; proactively manages critical path equipment delivery and installation processes; and coordinates activities of contractor(s), IS, Supply Chain, and others to deliver finished products. Manages Architecturally Significant Equipment (ASE) with requirements that impact architectural, structural, or utility design.
Assures that critical completion dates are maintained for final purchase agreements, final vendor drawings, and installation in adherence with the overall construction schedule.
Core Accountabilities:
Meets with project leadership to discuss/review project goals, vision for healthcare technology, and long-term facility plans.Provides review/update of projects to administration.
Participates with Supply Chain to maintain existing standards, and administration of the master contract and preferred vendors. Supports the Value Analysis process.
Determines needs/responsibilities for support, planning, cost estimate development, specifications, and installation of all medical equipment
.
Surveys existing areas effected by project to examine existing medical equipment, current staff workflow; and evaluate feasibility of medical equipment re-use for the project.
Equipment needs include:
- Fixed imaging equipment including CT, MR, PET, NucMed, etc.
- CATH, Neuro and other special procedure rooms
- Surgical lights and booms – mounting plates, etc.
- OR video automation/integrated surgical suites
- Patient, ICU, PACU, and Trauma room pre-fabricated headwall, consoles, and columns
- Patient monitoring, telemetry, central monitoring, fetal monitoring
- Sterilizers, cart washers, and other fixed Central Sterile equipment
- Radiation oncology, linear accelerator
- Equipment with the site-specific seismic tie-down requirements
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in project management, construction management, or value analysis required.
- Previous health care construction-related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of various construction methods and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerance as they relate to the health care industry required.
- Proven track record with concepts of budgeting, value analysis and/or financial analysis required.
Skills:
- Proficient in the use of Legacy budgeting tools.
- Knowledge and experience with Word, Excel and databases.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven track record of identifying critical issues/ opportunities and translation of the issues into a summarized fashion for decision makers.
- Skilled communicator with the ability to lead and/or successfully operate within a team environment.
Pay Range
