PROJECT DESCRIPTION: NYCWAY is the "Workfare/Engagement" system which ensures that all adult Cash Assistance clients perform work or training as a condition for continued eligibility. The application was originally copied from another NYS system constructed using a UNISYS MAPPER environment, and has grown substantially over the years, with no project end date.
Tasks & Duties
- Develop system documentation
- Develop operational and installation procedures for communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage and software
- Develop guidelines and upgrade techniques of new operational procedures for the support of databases, hardware systems, operating systems software, network systems software, security and client server systems.
- Develops detailed systems operations designs
- Develop System Design
- Develops and prepares documents for the general design of solutions that meet system and security requirements, including the selection of alternative approaches
- Develops specifications for databases, communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage and software configurations.
- Develops structured diagrams for the specifications of databases, communication systems, computer or storage area networks, security or network programs.
- Develops, compiles, maintains and documents configurations of the following: databases, servers, computers, security and network monitor systems, packaged programs, macros, utilities, and communication systems.
- Perform System Design and Analysis
- Create the program in .NET environment
- Provide general programming assistance to other ITS programmers/projects as may be needed.
- Test and maintain the program/system to make sure it meets all the functional requirements
- Perform co-ordination and Management
- Provide general programming assistance to other ITS programmers/projects as may be needed.
- Design reports that track the project progress as well as create audit trails/logs, security mechanisms in order to provide status to all stakeholders
- Provide assistance to ITS technical support staff when they are unable to resolve a program, database, or IT issue by themselves
- Perform considerable amounts of Project Management, SCRUM delivery and Agile Development Methodologies with knowledge in Functional Business Analysis and Planning sprint delivery
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered
- A minimum of 4 years of experience with the following skill sets:
- Systems analysis, design, test planning, documentation
- Writing technical specifications
- Producing management reports
- Gathering and documenting business rules from system users
- Experience and knowledge of the UNISYS mainframe and the PC environment.
