Our Client is a renewable energy company providing sustainable and cost-effective solar power solutions across urban and rural communities in Nigeria.
They are looking to hire a Project Manager who will oversee assigned company projects, including internally owned projects (mini-grids, captive power assets, etc.) and client projects (EPC contracts). The ideal candidate will ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Note: Experience in managing energy-related projects is a strong advantage, but applicants with project management expertise in other fields are encouraged to apply. This role demands strong multitasking abilities and frequent travel to project locations across the country.
Job Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop and oversee detailed project plans, ensuring that all company projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Define project milestones, allocate resources (human and materials), and track progress using project management tools like Gantt charts and MS Project.
Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with internal stakeholders to align project goals with organizational objectives.
Budget and Cost Control:
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
- Provide accurate financial reporting for every project.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to minimize disruptions.
- Ensure all projects adhere to regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Conduct regular evaluations to track project performance and measure outputs against set goals.
- Prepare and present project status reports, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Continuous Improvement:
- Develop improvement plans to enhance project delivery processes and maintain the company’s competitive edge.
Technical Oversight:
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure project designs are accurate, feasible, and aligned with client and company expectations.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management. Experience in managing energy projects is highly desirable.
- A bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, or a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification (mandatory).
- Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools like MS Project and Gantt charts.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent multitasking ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
