2026-4661 Job Summary
We are seeking a Graphic Designer to support the Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) Testosterone Screening and Treatment Expansion Program. This role designs healthcare-related promotional materials, presentations, and other visual communications products that translate complex program information into clear, engaging, and accessible content. This is a part-time position.
The Graphic Designer role requires a self-starter, proactive problem solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience in graphic design and creative production within federal or healthcare organizations. This position needs an individual that is committed to providing superior service, poised under pressure and has a positive and flexible attitude.
This is a contingent hire position. Offers will be contingent upon client approval and the ability to meet security requirements.
Remote work is anticipated. However, occasional travel for client engagements may be required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and produce healthcare-related promotional materials, fact sheets, newsletters, and other visual communications products supporting testosterone screening and treatment expansion initiatives.
- Develop visual layouts and graphics for executive-level presentations, reports, and dashboards.
- Ensure all design deliverables comply with the VA Style Guide and Section 508 accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with program and communications staff to translate program content and data into clear, visually engaging materials.
- Support the design and formatting of policies, directives, standard operating procedures, templates, and standards of work.
- Support development of graphics and visual content for VA SharePoint sites, TEAMS channels, and VA Intranet/Internet websites.
- Revise and refine design deliverables based on client and stakeholder feedback within established timelines.
- Maintain organized, version-controlled design files and assets for program use.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4 years of experience in graphic design or creative production, preferably supporting federal or healthcare organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Communications, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or equivalent design software.
- Experience designing materials compliant with Section 508 accessibility standards.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design work for healthcare, government, or similarly regulated organizations preferred.
- Strategic thinker with a forward-looking approach to marketing trends and technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Experience supporting complex projects and transformation efforts within the federal government.
- Comfortability with supporting complex client relationships.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
