This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Desenvolvedor Java Sr II based in Brazil.

This is a senior software engineering opportunity focused on developing, supporting, and continuously improving Java-based enterprise applications.You’ll work across modern and legacy technology environments, contributing to architecture discussions and technical improvements.The role combines production support, software development, database work, testing, and process optimization.You’ll help identify bugs, investigate technical issues, and implement reliable solutions that improve system stability and performance.The position requires strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Java EE, SQL, REST APIs, and enterprise frameworks.You’ll collaborate with technical and business stakeholders while working within agile development and ITIL-oriented support practices.It is well suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, learning independently, and delivering dependable technology solutions.

Accountabilities:

  • Support production systems by identifying, investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving bugs, incidents, and technical failures.
  • Participate in technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Apply software development methodologies to diagnose problems, identify opportunities, and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Model, monitor, and improve technical and operational processes to increase efficiency and system reliability.
  • Gather and analyze complementary business, integration, and technical information to support problem resolution and solution design.
  • Develop and maintain software using Java and enterprise frameworks, including Spring and Spring Boot.
  • Design and execute unit and integration tests to ensure software quality and stability.
  • Create, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, functions, and database views.
  • Work with relational databases and support data-related requirements involving SQL Server and DB2.
  • Manage production support queues according to ITIL best practices, including incident, problem, and change management.
  • Collaborate with users and stakeholders to understand issues, communicate solutions, and provide effective production support.
  • Contribute to improvements involving APIs, microservices, application security, version control, and software architecture.

Requirements:

  • More than 8 years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on experience in enterprise Java environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of Java 8+ / Java 11+, Java EE, EJB, Servlets, JDBC, Swing, Web Services, and related technologies.
  • Strong experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Struts, with knowledge of enterprise frameworks and tools such as Aspose, Jasper, Oracle TopLink, and Quartz.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles, including SOLID, KISS, DRY, YAGNI, separation of concerns, and related practices.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, DDL, and DML, with practical experience working with DB2 and SQL Server.
  • Experience with Git and source-control tools, as well as development environments and build tools such as Eclipse, Maven, Ant, and SVN.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, JavaScript, CSS, JSON, and AngularJS or comparable web technologies.
  • Familiarity with application security principles, particularly the OWASP Top 10, and secure software development practices.
  • Experience with production support, user communication, and ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management using tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.
  • Experience with Microsoft SSIS or other ETL technologies.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies and test-driven development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying technical and process improvements.
  • Intermediate English proficiency and mandatory Spanish proficiency, both written and spoken, for participation in Spanish-language meetings.
  • Self-directed, committed to deadlines, adaptable, and capable of learning new technologies independently.
  • Bachelor’s degree completed or currently in progress.
  • Experience with .NET, Oracle PL/SQL, WebSphere, DevOps, insurance, relevant certifications, or specialized technical courses is considered an advantage.
