Full description

CTG is seeking to fill an Android Developer – Kotlin & Java position for our client.

Location: Jersey City, NJ

Duration: 12 months

Duties:

  • Design, develop, maintain, and optimize high-performance Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
  • Develop clean, efficient, scalable, and maintainable code for a variety of Android devices and operating system versions.
  • Translate UI/UX designs into responsive, intuitive, and user-friendly mobile interfaces.
  • Utilize Android Studio, Android SDK, Jetpack components, and established Android development frameworks and tools.
  • Implement application architecture and design patterns, including MVVM and MVP.
  • Integrate mobile applications with RESTful APIs and backend services using JSON.
  • Design and manage local data persistence using Room and SQLite.
  • Develop and execute unit and instrumentation tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
  • Debug complex application issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Optimize application performance, stability, responsiveness, and resource utilization.
  • Develop secure and scalable mobile solutions that integrate effectively with other software components and services.
  • Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, QA teams, product managers, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, development planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java for Android application development.
  • Extensive knowledge of Android Studio and Android SDK.
  • Strong understanding of Android Jetpack components and modern Android development practices.
  • Experience with MVVM and/or MVP architecture and common Android design patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, and mobile application integration.
  • Experience with Room and SQLite databases.
  • Ability to create responsive, user-friendly Android interfaces from UI/UX designs.
  • Experience with unit testing and instrumentation testing.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of mobile application performance optimization and secure development practices.
  • Strong understanding of Android architecture, APIs, frameworks, and development tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional experience developing Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
  • Proven experience building, maintaining, and optimizing high-performance mobile applications.
  • Experience delivering secure, scalable, and maintainable Android solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience throughout the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including UX/UI designers, backend developers, QA engineers, and product managers.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $114,000 to $125,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
