Reinsurance Systems & Data Analyst (Hybrid)

Jean Edwards Consulting Ltd | Hybrid | Full-Time 

We are looking for a technically-minded, systems-savvy individual to join our Abuja office. This role is ideal for someone who is genuinely comfortable with data, numbers, and software, and who wants to build specialist expertise in reinsurance estimation accounting. No prior reinsurance or insurance background is required, full training will be given to the right candidate.

The Role We're looking for a numerate, technically capable individual to support our reinsurance estimation accounting function. This is a systems and data-heavy role: you'll be working daily within accounting platforms, spreadsheets, and data tools, so strong technical fluency, comfort with numbers, and confidence picking up new software matter more than a specific accounting background. Over time, you'll develop deep expertise in reinsurance estimation accounting through structured, hands-on training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work extensively within accounting and data systems to support reinsurance estimation accounting processes
  • Build, manage, and troubleshoot spreadsheets and system-based reports with a high degree of accuracy
  • Support the configuration, testing, and ongoing use of accounting software and data tools
  • Assist with reconciliations, reporting, and data analysis using system-generated outputs
  • Identify discrepancies or system issues, troubleshooting and resolving them proactively
  • Develop strong technical fluency in reinsurance accounting systems and processes through training
  • Collaborate with internal teams and IT/systems colleagues to support broader workflows
  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation within relevant systems and platforms
  • Continuously build technical, numerical, and software skills specific to the reinsurance sector

Essential Requirements

  • Strong technical aptitude, with demonstrable experience using data, accounting, or business software/systems
  • Advanced comfort with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation) and other data tools
  • Strong numerical ability and confidence working with figures
  • Confidence learning and adapting to new systems and software quickly
  • Excellent attention to detail when working with data
  • Based in or willing to work from our Abuja office

Nice to Have

  • Background in accounting, finance, insurance, or reinsurance
  • Formal accounting or finance-related qualification (e.g. ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
  • Experience with SQL, Power BI, or other data analysis and reporting tools
  • Prior experience in a systems implementation, migration, or automation-related role
