Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and possess at least 7 years of experience in data engineering. Proficiency in Python or Scala, SQL/NoSQL technologies, and experience with server environments or cloud platforms are required.

Full description

  • Lead the management and optimization of the on-premises server-based data infrastructure, focusing on Dredging data
  • Design implement and maintain data pipelines while addressing complex data engineering problems
  • Provide technical leadership within the DevOps team, collaborating with both junior and senior members to develop scalable, high-performance data solutions aligned with the unique demands of Dredging projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within DevOps team and with end-users to understand data requirements based on business and project needs
  • Architect and implement scalable data pipelines for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading

(ETL), ensuring seamless data integration across systems.

  • Oversee and fine-tune data storage and retrieval mechanisms to uphold high standards of data integrity, performance, and availability.
  • Perform advanced data analysis and develop reporting solutions to support strategic decision-making and optimize operational performance.
  • Lead testing and validation processes to ensure data quality, proactively identifying and resolving data-related issues.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and drive the adoption of emerging technologies to continuously improve data infrastructure and workflows.
  • Mentor and guide other data engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development across the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum 07 years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles, demonstrating a proven track record of designing and implementing effective data solutions
  • Experience with on-premises server environments and/or cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud}
  • Proficiency in programming with Python and/or Scala
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL data storage/retrieval technologies
  • Familiarity with version control systems, such as GIT
  • Knowledge of RESTful AP ls and integration with front-end services
  • Experience in supporting back-end development and providing data solutions for the creation and enhancement of desktop and/or web applications
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub profile
  • Familiarity with data science projects and methodologies
  • Exposure to Dredging and/or Civil Engineering
