About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to join a growing engineering team, delivering network projects, customer support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across modern Cisco environments.

You will work across customer environments of varying size and complexity, taking ownership of technical issues, support queues, project activities, customer communication, and documentation. The role provides strong opportunities to expand your capabilities across solution design, network automation, AI-assisted workflows, and emerging Cisco technologies.

Success in the role will be reflected through strong customer outcomes, effective ticket and project management, clear communication, independent ownership, and contributions to automation and operational improvements.

Ideal Profile

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in network engineering or network support roles.
  • Previous experience working within an Australian MSP environment.
  • Strong networking knowledge across routing and switching, wireless, SD-WAN, and security technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco technologies, particularly Cisco Meraki and Catalyst solutions.
  • Experience designing, implementing, configuring, and supporting network solutions across customer environments.
  • CCNA certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, take ownership of technical issues, and deliver solutions with minimal supervision.

Nice to Have

  • CCNP certification or equivalent.
  • Cisco certifications such as DevNet Associate or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience with network automation technologies such as Python, Ansible, REST APIs, Terraform, or Git.
  • Exposure to AI tools and AI-assisted technical workflows.
  • Experience with voice networking technologies.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts and automation-first operational models.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers and stakeholders.
  • Strong prioritisation and time-management skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.
  • Practical, problem-solving mindset focused on delivering simple and effective solutions.

  • Strong internal communication habits, with a proactive approach to asking questions and collaborating with the wider team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver network and security projects across the Cisco portfolio, including Meraki and Catalyst environments.
  • Design, implement, and support routing and switching, wireless, SD-WAN, and security solutions.
  • Monitor support queues and manage incidents through to resolution.
  • Troubleshoot customer network environments and provide business-as-usual operational support.
  • Build and maintain trusted customer relationships through clear, professional communication.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve documentation, troubleshooting guides, and operational standards.
  • Use AI tools such as Claude, Copilot, and similar platforms to enhance day-to-day workflows.
  • Contribute to automation and AI initiatives, including API integrations, tooling, and workflow improvements.
  • Develop reusable troubleshooting and operational documentation for customers and internal teams.
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction, effective project delivery, operational improvements, automation initiatives, and broader team capability uplift.
