Senior Database Administrator

About the Role We're looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join Paysafe's Database Solutions Team in Sofia. You'll help manage and optimize mission-critical Oracle and PostgreSQL databases across Europe and North America, working with cloud infrastructure, automation, high-availability solutions, and large-scale production environments.

What You'll Do

• Administer and support Oracle 19c and PostgreSQL databases across development, test, DR, and production environments.
• Maintain high availability, disaster recovery, replication, security, and performance solutions.
• Automate operational processes and improve database reliability and efficiency.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts, root cause investigations, and major incident resolution.
• Perform backup/recovery, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities.
• Work closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams on business-critical database initiatives.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation supporting mission-critical systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across monitoring, automation, and database operations.

What You'll Bring:

Required:

• Extensive experience administering Oracle databases in large-scale production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate, AWS DMS, and Oracle Exadata.
• Experience supporting databases in AWS environments.
• Strong SQL, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and automation skills.
• Proven ability to resolve complex production incidents under pressure.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have:

• PostgreSQL administration experience.
• Experience in highly regulated environments.
• Exposure to globally distributed, highly available database platforms.
