Position Summary The Residential Drain & Plumbing Project Manager oversees residential plumbing and drain service and remodeling projects from the start of the project through completion. The position supports operations across Montgomery and Opelika, Alabama, as well as Columbus and LaGrange, Georgia. This role is responsible for managing technicians, coordinating schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining customer satisfaction, controlling project costs, and achieving revenue and profitability goals. The ideal candidate has strong plumbing knowledge, leadership skills, and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage residential drain cleaning, sewer, water line, repipe, and plumbing installation projects.
- Develop project schedules and ensure milestones are met.
- Coordinate daily activities of technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Review estimates, proposals, and project scopes for accuracy.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Monitor job progress and resolve scheduling or field issues quickly and professionally.
- Perform quality control inspections and verify work meets company standards and local plumbing codes.
- Communicate regularly with homeowners regarding project updates, timelines, and expectations. Address any customer concerns or questions.
- Approve change orders and manage project documentation.
- Track project profitability, labor costs, and material expenses.
- Order and manage materials to minimize delays and waste. Including maintaining inventory of materials and equipment as needed.
- Support field technicians through coaching, training, and problem-solving.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, local and state codes, and company safety policies.
- Collaborate with sales, dispatch, and office staff to maximize efficiency.
- Participate in hiring, performance evaluations, and technician development.
Requirements
- 5+ years of residential plumbing or drain service experience.
- 2+ years in a supervisory or project management role preferred.
- Master or Journeyman Plumbing License
- Strong knowledge of residential plumbing systems, sewer and drain repairs, water service lines, and plumbing codes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and project specifications.
- Experience with estimating and job costing.
- Proficiency with scheduling and project management software.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background and drug screening.
