Design Hire is seeking a Project Manager to oversee technical equipment projects from order intake through delivery, field support, and commissioning. This fully onsite, contract-to-hire role is a strong fit for someone with industrial machinery experience who can coordinate across sales, engineering, production, field service, and customers while keeping schedules, budgets, and specifications on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project progression from order entry through manufacturing, inspection, shipment, field service, and commissioning support.
- Coordinate project requirements, schedules, technical specifications, and status updates with sales, engineering, production, customers, and management.
- Review mechanical and electrical drawings, project documents, checklists, and control or instrumentation requirements to support accurate execution.
- Monitor budgets, expenditures, open issues, unpaid invoices, and milestone activity to keep projects moving.
- Support field service scheduling, troubleshooting, customer communication, and final equipment inspections.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience managing projects, production programs, technical teams, or equipment manufacturing workflows.
- Strong technical background in industrial machinery, OEM equipment, fabrication, manufacturing, or engineered product environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, mechanical drawings, electrical drawings, and project documentation.
- Experience with project scheduling, budget monitoring, customer communication, and cross-functional coordination.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word required. Microsoft Access experience preferred.
- AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar technical drawing software experience is a plus.
- Municipal, industrial, water/wastewater, government contract, or mechanical equipment project experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience.
