The Role

The Finance Reporting COE is a fast-paced team with extensive knowledge of finance function source systems and business intelligence software capabilities. We serve customers (internal Fidelity leaders) across the enterprise with a creative and consultative approach, fostering relationships and responsibilities across many corporate finance teams. The Associate Financial Analyst will report to the Director, Finance, within the Finance Reporting COE team.

As an Associate Financial Analyst, you will collaborate in a dynamic, creative environment focused on continuously improving Fidelity’s financial decision-making. You will work with leaders across the organization in an influential, consultant-like role, delivering interactive, value-added digital solutions.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• A bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or technical-related fields is required.

• Preferred: At least 1 year of work experience at Fidelity.
• Minimum of 1 year in your current role.
• Strong interest in financial analysis, technology, and business intelligence software.
• Experience in sourcing and translating large datasets into digital tools and meeting materials.
• Preferred: Experience in creating digital reporting and analytics deliverables using data visualization tools (Power BI, SQL, etc.).
• Ability to tell a compelling story through various data visualization software and presentations
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to associates at all levels.
• Self-motivation and dedication to delivering quality products within assigned deadlines.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple detailed processes in a time-sensitive environment.
• Resourceful with strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Thorough understanding of financial/accounting principles and systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as being a team player.
• Basic knowledge of tools for performing analyses and creating presentations (Excel, PowerPoint, and relational databases).
• Consult with business partners to understand their financial and managerial reporting needs, data sources, and transformation requirements to deliver impactful, intuitive digital solutions.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and month-end reports, evaluating and analyzing variances to previous periods, budget, and forecasts.
• Support a wide variety of business partners throughout the firm.
• Provide support and consultation to the teammates in the COE and Line Finance partners.
• Ensure proper controls, documentation, and reviews are in place to mitigate risk.
• Provide visibility into key metrics and trends.
• Prepare reports for Fidelity business leaders, perform analyses to inform future development work, provide ad hoc support in response to follow up questions, and offer consultant-like enhancements.

The Associate Financial Analyst is a team player in the Finance Reporting COE, providing an evolving suite of value-added reporting and analytics services using innovative tools and processes to drive continuous improvement in the firm's decision-making.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
