When you join the State of Texas, your monthly paycheck is just one part of your real income. Our benefits provide extra value that many private employers simply don’t match—often adding hundreds of dollars each month to what you take home or save.

Here’s what you get as a full-time employee:

  • 100% paid health insurance for you, and 50% paid for eligible family members—saving you hundreds every month in out-of-pocket medical costs
  • Retirement plans with lifetime monthly payments after five years of state service, plus options to save even more with 401(k) and 457 plans
  • Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave so you can recharge and take care of life outside work (that’s time off you’re actually paid for)
  • Optional dental, vision, and life insurance—at rates much lower than most private plans
  • Flexible spending accounts for added tax savings on health and dependent care
  • Employee discounts on things like gym memberships, electronics, and entertainment

You also might qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, which could help you pay off federal student loans faster.

General Job Description

DFPS is undertaking a multi-phase initiative to modernize its case management system and replace the legacy IMPACT platform with a new Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System designed to better support the agency’s mission and operational needs. Building on the agency’s legislative planning effort, including development of the December 2024 transition report to the Texas Legislature, stakeholder engagement activities, market research, and legislative funding approved in 2025, DFPS is now moving from planning into implementation readiness for a modern, modular, cloud-based solution. This effort includes strategic planning, business process redesign, federal CCWIS and APD readiness activities, procurement and vendor onboarding support, data quality and migration planning, interoperability and bidirectional data exchange planning, organizational readiness, training support, and design activities.

DFPS is seeking professionals to serve as members of the Case Management Transformation Program (CMTP) team. Positions in this role support DFPS’s Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) modernization initiative and work collaboratively with program, operational, and information technology partners.

The individual selected will represent the Child Care Investigation Division and contribute to business process analysis and redesign, solution design activities, requirements development, and the review of project deliverables. This role ensures alignment with DFPS child welfare practice, policy, federal CCWIS requirements, and stakeholder needs for the Child Care Investigation Division.

Allowing stakeholders to access the data needed to make important decisions for those DFPS serves.
