SUMMARY
The Project Engineer has responsibility for coordination of technical activities on assigned projects. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates project duties in conjunction with the Project Manager & Project Superintendent. A Project Engineer will monitor work for quality assurance and quality control, accepted engineering practices and standards, ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned project between all disciplines and all other project assignments. While on a project, the Project Engineer reports to the Project Manager & Project Superintendent, who has ultimate responsibility for both the quality of Haydon's deliverable and effective execution of project assignments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Management of Submittal & Shop Drawing process in accordance with CPM deliverable goals, including creation of submittal log.
- Timely material approval and procurement is a primary function of this position. Responsible for preparation and tracking of a formal Procurement Log of all materials for the project.
- Actively supports and enforces company safety policies and standards
- Document Control and record drawing maintenance, including distribution of updated drawings (ASI’s, RFI’s, sketches, etc.) to subcontractors in Procore.
- Manage the distribution and documentation of RFI process including linking back to as-built documents in Procore.
- Recognize inconsistencies, failures and ensure proper follow up/resolution through closeout of the issues related to the RFI and Submittal Process.
- Understand the scope of all Subcontractors. Keep Project Manager & Superintendent aware of special provisions of Subcontracts related to PE oversight.
- Begin to understand the scope of work / terms and conditions of the Prime Contract Agreement.
- Work with project team on CPM and Look-Ahead Schedule creation and distribution.
- Quality Assurance/Quality Control. Ensure all materials and equipment delivered and installed at project site are in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and approved submittals, which includes field inspections.
- Moderating and/or participating in Owner and Subcontractor meetings, including writing and distributing meeting minutes
- Assist with As-Builts and Close Out process, which includes collection thereof, tracking, training and turnover.
- Assist in preparing and documenting subcontractor, owner, and preconstruction meetings
- Extensive regular contact with assigned subcontractors and Haydon crews
- Moderating and/or participate in subcontractor’s or foreman’s meetings to help facilitate and enforce jobsite safety and scheduling.
- Manage the distribution of and monitor the miscellaneous consultant and third-party inspection reports.
- Assist in entering Haydon craft time entry as needed.
- Assist Superintendent in capturing daily photographs of the entire project in addition to filing and management of those photos within Procore.
- Obtain appropriate training and perform weekly drone flights for ariel documentation, as allowable on the project site
- Participation in weekly Safety Audit and running compliance logs weekly
- Participation and creating Observations, Quality and Safety and help manage closing of open Observations.
- Assist in project set-up, including trailer and temporary facilities.
- Assist in expediting functions – special permits, special inspections, etc.
- Prioritize work effectively to meet project schedule and immediate deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and or Construction Management; 5 years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience considered. Must have experience in Business development, Operations, managing projects and a thorough knowledge of construction, safety standards, project management, and construction regulations. Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and to use hands to type, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds when maintaining records.
